This year, we’re inviting believers across Canada to send Christmas cards to their MPs - no matter who they are or what party they represent. As 1 Timothy 2 reminds us, we are called to pray for everyone - for kings and all those in authority - so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and...

Last weekend, we had to travel down to Ashawa to do a prayer school at Embassy Church, the church that actually launched us to National House of Prayer. It was a fantastic time. But on the way down, I just couldn't wait any longer. I know it's before Remembrance Day and it was kind of blustery and I turned on the Christmas music. I could hardly wait. I love Christmas. I love Christmas time. I love getting ready for Christmas. I loved all that stuff that happens at church at Christmas time, or at least should happen at church at Christmas time. And so, just a couple weeks ago, we were out in Alberta, central Alberta in Red Deer, and actually on one occasion, we were at a I went into
Calgary to speak to a [music] Christian school. It was a fantastic time. Love talking about First Timothy 2. And you know this, and I'm going to say this again. 1 Timothy 2 is this. pray all kinds of prayers for everybody. So, who's everybody? Everybody. Everybody includes those people we like and those people we don't like. We pray for everyone. For kings and those in authority that we'll have peaceful and godly lives. This is good. Or like Trump would say, it's a good deal. It is a good deal. You pray for everybody so that we have peaceful and godly lives. It not only does this, it pleases God. And so that's why we pray for everybody because it pleases God. But it is even
even more to that because many times we just read that verse and we stop at the peaceful godly lives part and then we don't continue. But if we continue, we see that it pleases God. And number two, so that all men and women [music] would be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. That's the why. I'm a guy who likes to work in the world of why. I'd like to know why we are doing this. So we pray for kings. We pray for everybody who leads. We pray for everybody. Why? So that they come [music] to that they are saved and they come to the knowledge of the truth. So while I was at the Christian school, we I gave them an assignment and they were eager to take on this assignment. And so this
Christmas time, would you be partakers in the assignment? I'm going to send this across the nation and I hope everybody gets this and does this. Not only are we praying for our members of parliament, doesn't matter what part what what group you voted for. Doesn't matter because we're going to pray for everybody. Remember that everybody part that includes members of parliament you didn't vote for. And so we're going to send them a Christmas card. You're going to send them a Christmas card. [music] And in the Christmas card, you're going to say, "Thank you for serving our country, serving our community." And you're going to say this and know that we [music] are praying for you as a
family, as an individual, but we're praying for you. So you'll say, "Merry Christmas and thank you, member of Parliament, for serving our community. And know [music] this, we are praying for you." I would love to see thousands of of Christmas cards float onto Parliament Hill. Wouldn't that be something? Thousands upon thousands of Christmas cards flowing on to the [music] parliamentary office. When you send these cards, you can send it for free because it's going to their parliamentary office. So this Christmas, wish your member of parliament a merry Christmas and you are praying for them. You know, when I come up to the members of parliament in the House of Commons
and I say to them, I'm Chris. This is Maryland. We're from the National House of Prayer. And know this, you have people in your writing praying for you and they respond every time. Every time they respond this way, their response is, "You do." So this Christmas, send your member a Christmas card. Wish them a merry [music] Christmas. I'm Chris Byber, the director of the National House of Prayer, and we'll see you next time. Bye for now.
