A CANOPY OF PRAYER OVER CANADA
“Our mission is to raise up functioning prayer teams in all 343 federal ridings across Canada, forming a Canopy of Prayer over Canada. We want to see these teams made up of believers from all streams, traditions, and denominations. We equip, inform, and encourage these teams through our weekly Prayer Stream newsletters, our School of Prayer, our soon-coming Podcast, and Regional in-person gatherings.”
Prayer Stream
Prayer Stream is a weekly newsletter designed to keep you informed and equipped to pray for your community and Canada. Each edition of Prayer Stream includes a short video exhortation, information on current national and international events affecting Canada and Israel, and – most
importantly – recommendations on how we can pray into these events. You’ll also find updates and announcements on upcoming prayer-related
events in Canada.
School of Prayer
NHOP’s School of Prayer exists to strengthen and equip you to grow adeeper, enduring prayer life. We focus on themes related to what Scripture teaches us to pray for, how it teaches us to pray, and what it teaches us topray. Each course consists of roughly 10 video sessions, with accompanying notes available. We release a new course each spring andfall. Those who are part of our Canopy of Prayer receive the newest course sessions automatically and are able to participate in live Q & A’s with the course instructors.
NHOP Regionals
For the first 15 years, NHOP’s primary focus was to invite intercessors from across Canada to come to Ottawa to pray. In the last 5 years, that vision has shifted to encouraging and activating prayer on the ground where you live. Rather than traveling to a House of Prayer in Ottawa, we want to see the Church in Canada become the House of Prayer that Isaiah and Jesus spoke of.
Still, nothing can replace the impact that comes with praying together, in- person, with the wider Body of Christ. This is the heart behind NHOP Regionals. Each year, we seek to host an event in BC, Alberta, the Prairies, Southern Ontario, and Quebec and the Atlantic Provinces, in addition to various in-person events in Ottawa.
