Hi everybody, it's Chris Byber, the director of the National House of Prayer, coming to you today from Ottawa. Well, just yesterday the new cabinet was uh sworn in at Rita Hall. It's a very large cabinet with even secretaries of state which we never really had before. So, there's a lot of things happening right now. We have uh the throne speech and actually when they're called back into the house that's coming up on May the 26th. We will have King Charles here for that. Lots of opinion and stuff like that. We're hearing it already. You know, there's all these things that are forming right now about our government. You know, people are anxious to get back. And I'm going to just give you a
posture and just posture us for this coming season. You know, we may have a majority government. things are still there. We're approaching the 170. So maybe in this for a little while and lots of comm community comments right now about that. Lots and lots of opinion. I want to encourage you that we need to pull us back and and pull us back to a kingdom mindset. Uh I I love this out of uh Matthew chapter 6. Uh this really great out of verse 5. But when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. They love to pray standing in the synagogues or on the street near uh on the street corner so that men can see them. There there's that. But also it says here, but listen to this. And
when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your father knows what you need before you even ask. That's a really interesting thing you to realize that your f our heavenly father knows what we need even before we ask. And then it goes on to the Lord's prayer. This is how we pray. This is where the focus is. Yours is the kingdom, the power, the glory forever and ever. And it's about the kingdom of God. It's not necessarily about awesome government in our land, which we really like. I like that. It's not about pipelines, right? that that's great have pipelines to the to the coasts and and
wealth developed. It's not about all those things. It's about the kingdom. What is the kingdom? The Apostle Paul says the kingdom is this. It's not meat or drink. It's not the stuff that we need. It's not that physical stuff. It's about righteousness, peace, and joy. And it reminds me of this. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Where is the focus? The focus is on the kingdom. If we seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, this other stuff will be added to us. That's we see that in in Matthew chapter 6:33. It's these other things. Where does the focus need to be? on the
kingdom, building the kingdom, preaching the kingdom, being the kingdom. These are the things that are important. And the other stuff, they'll come into line. So don't ring your hands whether you like the cabinet or not. Don't be upset that King George is coming or not coming. Don't be upset regardless. And don't be worried for the next f four years or five years. Focus on the Lord. Preach the kingdom. Be the kingdom. Be the hands and feet of Jesus. I'm going to say this again. Lord, give us eyes to see, ears to hear, feet to move. It's the kingdom. This is what it's all about. It's not just government. It's not just our needs, but it's the kingdom. It's your neighbors where we
really need to be concerned. Yes, those other things are important, but it is way more important for us to be concerned about our neighbors who don't know Jesus. That's where the main thing is. Keep the main thing the main thing. The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing and that's the kingdom of God. I'm Chris Byber, the director of the National House of Prayer, and we'll see you next time. Bye for now. [Music]
