hey everybody it's Chris beiberg the director of the national House of Prayer coming to you today from Ottawa so I just want to talk a few about a couple of things that are really um interesting on the hill that you may not be be aware of what's going on you know many many times last week uh during the National Prayer records Richard Bragdon and um Damien kurick and these others that we were working closely with that were mentioning this parliamentary prayer meeting next every Wednesday morning at 7 15. now a lot of people aren't aware of this they think that only certain parties pray but I just want to assure you there are many members from many parties that come
regularly on Wednesday mornings to pray to pray for each other to pray for the nation and it's a real great place for him to be vulnerable with each other and caring for each other so it's not as partisan as you think it is all the time when you see this on television in fact I I like to tell people like politics is a bit of a game and many of the what you're seeing especially in question period and things like that there that's a bit of a show that's going on there actually is a lot of collaboration that happens on the hill for example um John McKay a liberal member former Minister uh just recently um put forth a bill that was came from a committee an anti-slavery committee and
on this this committee you have uh Richard Bragdon you've got um Arnold Pearson uh these are names that we normally know um and John McKay and Andre Andrian La Roche from the block and uh and they put together this bill that has passed unanimously to to assure that product lines products coming from abroad were not being manufactured by slaves this is a big thing and so it's really interesting to find out that the vast majority of that committee actually attends the prayer meeting on Wednesday morning with the exception of one but we're praying for him and uh you know it's it's it's really interesting what happened that last week too because when we go into the house we often see
members the Holy Spirit kind of highlights members to us for us to pray for on all sides of the house and so we've been we take them on as prayer assignments and what was so exciting last week was many of those that we have been praying for had shown up to the National Prayer Breakfast not all members attend and in fact it's pretty much just the Believers there Jim and so it was interesting to see those that we had been praying for those are canopy teams had been praying for were showing up so God is at work God is at work in building his kingdom uh here on Earth as it in Heavens your kingdom come your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven and so we this is just one example or
two examples of what God is doing on Parliament Hill and it's really really exciting it's not all partisanship although there's a lot of that there continue to pray for these members continue to pray for your member every day you should be praying for him not because there's a crisis not because um things are going sideways but because we are called to pray for leaders and all those in authority amen so let's pray so father I thank you Lord for what you're doing on Parliament Hill Lord I Thank you that prayer is Alive and Well on Parliament Hill not just coming from the external the external Ministries but from parliamentarians themselves Lord I just pray that even this Wednesday they would
know you more Lord that they would know the height the breath the width the depth of your love and that they would know you more in Jesus name amen well thank you everybody I'm Chris beiberg the next the director of the national House of Prayer and we will see you next time bye for now foreign
