[Music] hi everybody it's Chris byberg the director of the national House of Prayer coming to you today from Ottawa so this morning in our devotions in our one-year Bible and many of you are tracking with that uh we were reading about the transition between Moses as the leader to Joshua and one of the things that I found really interesting was that as they transitioned leadership Moses lad hands on Joshua and imparted wisdom that's what the scripture says he imparted wisdom to Joshua we are in a season right now where there could be an election at any time there's one projected for October um 2025 but you know because we're a minority government an election could

happen at any time so right now there are a lot of um a lot of writings that are in the process of of raising up can candidates are getting your candidate selections it's important that you figure out you know if that's happening in your writing CU you can be praying for that right now you can be praying for those into that candidate selection because we want to have the most wisest people there um one of the best tools that we use right now is called Canada 338 and this actually gives us a lot of information on potential um it's it's a compilation of um of polls so it's not just one poll they use all the polls and they kind of project on which way that

writing is going to go whether it'll be conservative or liberal or NDP or green or block um you know you'll be able to read this this is a great tool with the link in the bottom there but one of the things I would suggest that you do is find look at your writing look at the projections in your writing because this will give you an opportunity on how you should pray but also to pray for your for candidates right now I know there are whole bunch of writings that uh have no candidates in them they're in the process of selecting them so you could be be a part of that that selection process you could even be you know depending on the party and and whatever like that if you're a v a liberal you

should have a membership and then you could vote uh for selecting that member and the conservatives they they uh do the same kind of thing to pay a a fee to be a part of the membership and then you can be a part of the candidate selection this is a good place for us to be talk about grat rots this is a great place to be so that you can hear each of the candidates debate who they're bringing in and then they could select that I'm going to share a story there was this member I won't get into the specifics of the name there's a member in the house and she's really kind of really wonderful but I want to show who it is and so uh during the last election 2021

election there was this um uh one of the persons on our team uh that was praying and for their meeting they were involved with the candle candidate selection and the candidate they hoped for to get in which ticked off all the boxes that he liked this person was a Believer they actually came from a prominent Ministry they had they were pro-life they had all these things that were really really good this is the kind of thing but that candidate didn't win it was this other candidate came in and she wasn't Pro right she was pro choice and so my our friend said so what do I do now I don't have this candidate that I I want I've got this other person said your job is

to pray First Timothy 2 we're going to harp on this forever you going to pray all kinds of prayers for everybody for kings and those in Authority that will have peaceful and godly lives and so I said pray for her pray that pray just pray and uh she ended up getting in she won her seat and so she's sitting in the house and so I see he says now what do I do she's not the prate candidate I want how do I relate to her I said you know when she does good things in the house send her a note write a note to her to her constituency office and just say I really appreciate your stand I appreciate what you're doing this particular member had a real heart for the poor so he would send these little

notes to say that was awesome glad you're doing engagement glad you're doing this and at the very end of the note he would write and by the way I'm praying for you and you know take about 6 months and then all of a sudden this member starts to reach out to our prayer person and our intercessor started to reach out and said hey by the way what does this mean in The Bible and so he developed this relationship back and forth hey could you pray for me and she actually started to give them prayer prayer requests and prayer points and had conversations all from engagement all from being positive and writing letters so and and so they developed this relationship so you know last year

at the National Prayer Breakfast which is coming up May 6th and 7th here in Ottawa you know most of the members of parliament that that attended that are believers this woman isn't a Believer yet but she here she was at the prayer breakfast she was there so I I was able to come up to her after the breakfast I saw her you know I'd been praying for her because I knew it was It was kind of she was in our radar on our radar and so Marilyn went and I went up to her as well as she was standing with um Pierre po of as well and uh and I said hey we're Kristen Maryland from the national House of Prayer I have this friend that's in your writing and he prays for you on a regular basis and you know what

she said I know I love this guy and you know what here she was prayer is working prayer working here she is at the National Prayer Breakfast not a Believer yet and she's there prayer is working this is a great way to engage so the candidate selection is coming up right now you could be part of this look at Canada 338 see where where where you need to be praying and uh you know looking out and get yourself involved whether you're you're a liberal or an NDP or a block or a green or a conservative be engaged and be engaged with the candidates and tell them that you're praying because this is so important you would not believe what happens when we introduce ourselves and

we're on Parliament Hill and we meet members of parliament this is what we tell them hi we're Christ and mland we're from the national House of Prayer and we have a team of people in your writing that are praying with you and when I say those words you would not believe the warmth and the reception that we get from those members they are completely blown it away I was standing there just today waiting to get into the House of Commons to pray in the gallery and a member walks up to us because he saw us he saw us at a at an event with the Israeli Ambassador just a few months ago he remembered us and came up and said when are we meeting when are we getting together we're putting that

together so engagement is important you don't have to be the leader of ministry you could be and you can do this because this is really important that you engage with those members oneon-one face to face be encouraging and be prayerful my name is Chris bber the director of the national House of Prayer and we will see you next time bye for now [Music]
