hi everybody it's Chris bber the director of the national House of Prayer coming to you today from Ottawa it's been a very very interesting week lots of fun it's already Wednesday but so far this week we've been in Quebec City and last night uh we were on Parliament Hill with the the Canadian parliamentary Israel allies caucus that's a mugful that is chaired by uh MP leson Lewis uh there were many MPS there some good friends that we got to know over the years many of the faces there I'm not surpris surprised that they were there um and there there were other Ministries and other Jewish organizations there as well the BL breath was there CA was there Christian Embassy our friends at
Christian Embassy uh icj the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem Canada was there um it was a really great evening it was a wonderful evening and it and we were there to hear uh the Israeli Ambassador um Ido moed uh just to update us as to what's going on in Israel there were lots of questions lots of Engagement from both the MPS and from the Ministries and organizations that were represented and one of the major themes that we heard especially we really heard the ambassador's heart on how appreciative he he has been with the church in Canada and how we've been engaging and how important it is for us to stay engaged with the Jewish community community
because anti-Semitism listen to this statistic you'll find this really interesting globally anti-Semitism has gone up by 235% in Canada it has gone up over 800% that is an astounding number and so even this morning uh mp uh Melissa lman was uh had uh things plastered all over her windows in her constituency office in Thorn Hill not very nice things so it's it's really important that we again continue to stand with the Jewish people have a rally there's a rally this weekend in in h Victoria that my friend Edie and Bill are are uh are putting together uh if you're out in BC go to that rally support Israel doesn't matter if it's really big or really small you
know it it the it really touches the heart of the the Israeli people my friend um Harold SAR he's pastor of e Li day in Orleans that's just on the east side of Ottawa you know he was at an event in uh back in 1999 it was the St Louis event Watchmen of the for the Nations uh uh had put together an event for the St Louis was the ship that Canada and many other nations had turned away Jewish people fleeing uh anti-Semitism fleeing persecution fleeing for the lives for their lives and and and actually Canada said no our policy at that time was one Jew was too many we repented for that and we continued to repent for that but one of the things that that happened in that
event back at 25 years ago there were over 400 men that stood up and said never again we never again we will not let this happen so my friend Harold he has reached out to a local synagogue and He is building a relationship with the with the the rabbi there I think this is absolutely wonderful just to say never again you know it's one thing that we we we say things right and we can say things but it's really important that there are actions attached to our words so I want to encourage you again once again stand with the Jewish people they are very they are very afraid build relationships pastors build relationships with Rabbi there's an event coming up on the 22nd in here in
Ottawa where rabbis will be meeting with with pastors and we will be able to listen to the hearts of the rabbis and let them talk and we will listen so anyway great things happening on the nation's capital my name is Chris bber I'm the director of the national House of Prayer and we will see you next time bye now
