hi everybody I'm Brad Fiddler with the national House of Prayer and uh coming with a prayer point for today during this election cycle uh I want to pray from Matthew 6:33 uh today about seeking first the kingdom of God and just real briefly you know we pray this way because Paul made you know very clear in the book of Philippians uh you know we're we to think and live as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven first um even more than we than we seek to live as good citizens of Canada we do that but in the context of we're we're citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven first you know Hebrews 11 talks about our heroes of The Faith from the Old Testament um part of what

drove them in their lives to live a life of Faith was that they considered themselves strangers Exiles foreigners Nomads are different words you'll see it translated as um considered themselves strangers or Exiles on the earth and their Homeland was a land that was to come and uh and so I just want to pray that the church will be able to keep this posture even through this election cycle because you know economy is important even in Matthew 6 there Jesus is talking about don't worry about what you're going to eat what you're going to wear all these other things you know things that are very front front of mind for a lot of people today the economy is important security is important fiscal

responsibility is important values morals ethics so on and so forth all these election items are are are important um but they're all secondary to the kingdom of God right Matthew 633 seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you so father we pray for the church in Canada today as we as we're uh in the early stages of this election cycle father I ask that your church would seek first the kingdom of God and your righteousness that that your kingdom the advancement of your kingdom the establishment of your ways of your rule in our lives and in in the Spheres we we live and move in father would that be the primary thing on our

hearts in these days uh father help us to have Grace to seek first your kingdom and to not get swept up in uh in in all the the hoopla of the of the election but father would our eyes be fixed first and foremost on you King Jesus on you on your kingdom on your ways help us to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness in Jesus name amen thanks we'll see you again tomorrow with another prayer point [Music]
