Guns and gangs need you to show up

Your voice and your prayers matter. This week we want to encourage you to show up for things directly impacting our government and our country.

[Music] hello again are we just contemplating just a little while ago on this encounter I had while I was working on the government side of things I was part of a round table that we had put together uh called guns guns and gangs Roundtable we were working with Community leaders and talking about the effects of gangs and guns in the culture and it was quite a big round table our friends had put it on but we were observers there were about 40 people around the table and consistently over and over there was this theme and this is what the community leaders were asking if there was only an organization that could teach us how to do family if there was only an organization that

could be supportive to families on how to grow strong healthy families and you know around that table there was not one Church leader invited wasn't even invited I was I was flabbergasted by the time I left that meeting I was thinking like man did we ever miss it not even invited not even felt that we were relevant and yet here we do have the body of Christ has answers on how to raise strong solid families and yet we weren't invited to the table I uh from that time on I started to to make phone calls to leaders and I tried to invite as many leaders to as many things we had church leaders Christian leaders to as many things we had because they have the opportunity to bring influence

to tell their story if we don't tell our story nobody's going to tell it for us and so you know when I think about Daniel you know especially the first five five chapters of Daniel you see the call that he had on his life he had a call to government yet he was a prophet right he knew the word yet he knew the literature of the culture and the scripture tells us that he was ten times wiser Than The Magicians or those of those that the um that the emperor would draw upon you know what we have the wisdom of God that is that we can draw on yet we're not at the table so I want to encourage you especially the years and pastors reach out to your members reach out to those members if

there's a guns and gangs Roundtable get on it if there's a a anything to do with family step up even as intercessors be engaged be engaged you may be 10 times wiser than than the others that the premier or the prime minister or the ministers are drawing from you maybe so I want to encourage you step up if a team likes to use this often I really like it she says you know the the community goes to those who show up I really believe that that's what happened with Marilyn and I we started to show up and we started to attend we didn't take over but we brought the kingdom we brought righteousness peace and joy and because of those three things doors opened up for us I just want to
