Foolish motions and diaspora politics

We are back in Ottawa from our trip to beautiful BC, just in time to pray, as a motion will be presented in parliament to reinstate funding to UNRWA. We will be present in the house to intercede on behalf of Israel and its’ right to defend itself. Please pray that eyes and ears will be opened and hearts will...

[Music] hi everybody it's Chris byberg the director of the national House of Prayer coming to you today from Ottawa yes we're back home we were out in BC for a couple of weeks and it's so good to be home we just finished up our trip in Fort St John British Columbia with a mission vision and met with some Churches and leaders it was an exciting time so Exquisite what God is doing up in the north especially that little city it is full of the purposes of God I've never seen uh actually it's very rare to see the amount of unity that they walk in up there in the rest of Canada my prayer is that you guys will continue to walk uh cities will walk together like Fort St John like Ottawa like Winnipeg

God is doing great things Across the Nation but I want to talk to you today about some a motion that's coming into the house on Monday through the NDP it is uh basically it's a pretty despicable Motion in my personal opinion um it wants to reinstate funding to unra I'll tell you the truth the funding to unra never stopped the last payment was scheduled in December and then shortly afterwards the government said they're going to stop but actually the next payment comes out in in April so maybe there's a little bit of smoke and mirrors there I don't know uh so there's that thing that the NDP wants to bring up it wants to also make sure that Israel isn't able to

defend themselves that's part of their motion uh also the fact that um they want to recognize palestin as a state separately and uh and how can you have a two-state solution when the the state that wants to come into being won't even recognize Israel that's the main problem they don't even recognize them as a state they want a on-state solution and that doesn't include Israel just so you're aware maybe I sound a little deflamat but I want to bring it out to you as clear as I can and let me talk to you about Motions like many people are upset about motions motions are not laws it's important that you realize that but however what motions do motions put into

place things that can be policy right I like to call them uh call emotion is basically it's a barometer it's a temperature and you get to see where the wisdom lies and where the food foolishness not lies in motions and so in this particular place it's uh we get to see where the foolishness lies and actually that's not a bad thing I think it's really good when we get these things because then we have a we know what we're up against we know what we're praying into otherwise if we didn't have these things they we'd have all this stuff that's lying under the surface this actually comes up and bears its ugly head and it gives us an opportunity to pray and what are we praying for

we're praying praying for the hearts of men and women to change that's the main thing we want to see our heart change you know in James it talks about this those who lack wisdom if they ask God he will generously give it and so that's what we're praying for we're praying that eyes go eyes to see ears to hear that they will have see that they need wisdom and they can ask for wisdom right this is important that they ask we cannot ask I mean my prayer is that you know that my kids are wisdom but they have to choose to walk in wisdom I can ask for God to present wisdom to them but the reality is they have to choose to walk in it and the same thing that we have to

pray for our government right they can we can ask that God shows them what wisdom is but ultimately they have to choose to walk in wisdom so we pray that their hearts are softened and that they're not hard-hearted H to when the Lord presents wisdom and he might be presenting it in the House of Commons through speakers through Communications from from the likes of you as you build relationships with your members of parliament that's a great way and you can present wisdom to them and from there they can make a decision to walk in it so be in prayer this motion is coming up watch for it Marilyn and I will be in the house on Monday watching for this and praying and

uh so be mindful for up this this motion from the NDP and we're going to pray and we're going to pray that Hearts change you know it's not it's not a bad thing when we see things are so bad because again I'm going to bring back the maid thing you know we've been pressing in on maid for a couple of years now since that expansion of maid was brought in and eventually we saw the hearts of men change they really started to see wisdom was presenting itself and then many chose to say okay maybe we need to think about about this a little more I believe that came from prayer so keep it up everybody it's awesome to be praying with you across the nation I'm Chris
