hi everybody it's Chris bber the director of the national House of Prayer coming to you today from Ottawa well we just completed uh well actually just last week we had our two days of awe days of awe a prayer and uh worship and intercession and strategic alignment in our city time was uh National House of Prayer partnered with meeting point Ministries our friend uh Isaac Kimba leads that and we had a great a wonderful time we had um about a 100 Ministries and churches represented for the two days and it was exciting the presence of the Lord was intense it was indeed a day of awe days of awe and one of the highlights of this time is we invited uh actually our

friends from the Jewish Federation of Ottawa asked if they could attend and that uh we were had a conversation on October 7th at the memorial here in Ottawa and there was a significant time of repentance on behalf of the church to the Jewish Community it was again an awesome time it was days of awe and I want to encourage you you know even even though many of us are making inroads into the Jewish community and we are doing repentance but a lot of our repentance happens and there are no Jewish people around to be found and I think it's important that you repent to people it's good that we do this in in in the spirit yes it's good we've done this for years but I think it's time to

build strategy moving forward with um human beings and uh and I think maybe that's what the Lord is speaking and we're able to see that that fruit uh come in and bear fruit that what we've been doing over the years is now bearing fruit and I want to encourage you to to look at building relationships and Building Bridges and seeing where the Lord takes you in your city so I and one of the things that that um you know you know when you're you're in a time of intense prayer and worship and the presence of the Lord is is sweet and intense many times we think that oh we have to go to an event to find that and I want to encourage you that you can have these face-to-face

encounters with the Lord on your own in your closet in your prayer closet you you you should be experiencing the presence of the Lord on a daily basis why would you why would you uh you know deny yourself although the scripture says take up your cross deny yourself and follow me but when it comes to the presence of the Lord we should be pressing in all the time not just for special events and special occasions or just on Sunday when the worship team can get us there you know you should have the ability to come in into the presence of the Lord so but if you're rushing and if you're trying to rip through your devotionals or your one-year daily prayer uh you know you'll miss a lot so

slow down you taste and see that the Lord is good so you know in Acts chapter 6 you know the Apostle said I just want to read this because it's really really important because you know a lot of ministry is driven by lots of work I know our lives are very very busy but if we don't set side time to be with the Lord we actually things come up lacking it is so much more profitable to spend time with the Lord so in Acts 6 four it says uh and will give our attention to prayer and Ministry of the word let me just back it up a little bit here from the the top of the thing so in the days when the number of disciples were increasing the Grecian Jews among them C campaigned

against those are aromatic speaking communities because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food so the 12 gathered all their disciples together and said I would not it would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of God in order to wait on tables so this is what they were doing they were administrating their Ministries they were doing their things or feeding the Sheep pastors you know you're feeding the sheep and this case they were feeding food but a lot of times pastors are busy sh preparing for spiritual food leaders are preparing spiritual food they're doing the work they're doing the administration they're doing all the stuff and it's all good

and the so the 12 gathered all the disciples together it would not be right to neglect the ministry of the word in order to wait on tables choose seven from among you who are known to be full of spirit and wisdom so even the these guys who are going to set them up to lead tables and wait tables and serve they need to be filled with the spirit and wisdom we will turn this responsibility over them and give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the Lord and so I want to talk a little bit on the importance of ourselves being given to prayer and Ministry of the word now many of us say well that's Pastor Bob's job and he has to do that but I want to say this about you because you are the

pastor of your street you are the pastor at your workplace you so you need to be able to get into prayer listening to the father and prepare to minister the word one of the biggest highlights of last week was was our our our ability to to repent to the Jewish community and that all came out of a time of prayer take it that that's we've been praying for this for a long time and praying and be able to minister the word I was able to talk on Genesis 12 which I talked a couple of weeks about about a kalal and AAR you know that thing on on how broad curses is and we were able to repent on behalf of the church from being you know vehemently cursing the Jews to those who

were different and the response was yes we forgive you and that is massive but it's not it's important that we just don't leave it there we got the the acknowledgement we got that and many times we've seen this in the prayer movement where they just leave it and don't continue to build and we are to ask the Lord what the strategy on walking things out whether it's dealing with indigenous people whether it's dealing with any kind of issues Ministry to the poor all those things we do the repentance and often times we just stay and we don't continue to walk it out walk it out with the indigenous people walk it out with the Jewish people we did this thing back in you know 2001 you

know a Watchman for the Nations and uh I wasn't there but many of my friends were and uh fantastic thing happened there but we also see this coming back and repent and it's important that we repent but we also need strategies to work and walk and and build together and those strategies come out of giving ourselves to prayer and giving ourselves to the ministry of the word that's where they come we could have lots of great ideas but unless they're coming from Heavenly Father unless you are spending the time in his face one thing I ask that I would seek to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to be in his Temple that's our posture and many of us live busy busy lives I have no I

you have no idea how busy our lives are I thought we were going to come here and wait on the Lord for 247 and We inherited a Ministry that needs like all of you that are in Ministry there's a lot of work to Ministries and so we have to find time we have to find time to press in and to hear from the Lord and to get in this word and to to to just be filled be being filled with his holy spirit so I want to encourage you today be being filled pray get into the word be given to prayer be given to the word I'm Chris pyber the director of the national House of Prayer and we will see you next time bye for now [Music]
